Got it. The description in the ad is: "- enormous vintage speaker (4ft wide, 3ft tall, 3ft deep), wood case with sparkly gold fabric on front"

The OP contacted seller who provided him the additional pictures privately, thus was not part of the ad. The "enormous" item is still listed.

Did you get the speaker?

Yeah, I pinged the guy for more info, he sent those two pictures. I know that driver is worth something, not sure about the enclosure. It looks pretty decent.

No word, yet. When I sent the email yesterday afternoon, ad said it'd been up for 4 days. Either way is fine with me. I've got so many speaker restoration and upgrade projects in the wings, not having another project is okay. And I have 2 more audition projects due in this week. So, I'm well taken care of!

He must have read this post, since nolasally mentioned $500, and that's exactly the amount the seller is asking. Or someone sent him the link to this thread. Well...everyone that e-mailed him for the free vintage speaker will be waiting for a looooonnnnnngggggg time!!!

Either that or whoever got it for free relisted with the original pictures.

Or many people contacted him with I"LL TAKE THEM PLEASE HOLD THEM FOR ME PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE causing the seller to reassess what he had.

/and perhaps check ebay

I'd bet the only way anyone had a shot at these was to get lucky and contact the seller within minutes of the listing and get on the phone with him. Make a cash offer then get in your car and go immediately to get it. In the interim hope the onslaught of inquiries doesn't start between you hanging up the phone and your arrival there.

/which clearly did not happen
