Phase Linear Dual 500II opinions

Hello, I feel very fortunate to have this Monster Power amp in my collection. It stays in the Garage because it's just too much power in the living room. Pair that with a lack of restraint on a Saturday night after Midnight and well, you've got neighbors knocking on the door asking WTF...???

True Story a Guy did the same thing the other night... so after a quick tour of the rig and a mellow run through of his favorite song...He said sorry but, the Mrs is not happy so can you watch the volume after 10pm?? Sure I'll try Bro...Just bring a beer next time...LOL...

Anyway, any opinions on this Power amp? Also it's potential value? I am thinking about sending it to "The Farm" in Northern California where it can sing through the Redwoods and into the Cannabis Fields...

The Unit is about a 6 out of 10. It looks like it's been used in a professional studio in Marin County. My Tech who said they used to pull the power supply and power it with a variac to boost and additional 250 watts per channel as a PA amp (Yes that's 750 watts per channel...did I studder?? lol...) says it solid on the inside. Any thoughts are welcome...

Hi. Just sticking my two cents in. I too have a Dual 500. It replaced my Pioneer Spec 2. I love both of them. Although my Spec 2 is in need of a recap, I don't think that there are any other amps that are "that much" better. They are both killer amps. I'm running it to two pairs of Bose 901 VI. I have two pairs of 901 II's, but they all need new drivers. 36 drivers, that's how much??
Good luck. I love it.

I had a Dual 500 back in the late 80's driving a pair of Ads 2030's. I never played it very loud late at night, but during the day, it did have the ability to play beyond loud. Very nice amp. Not very common either.
