Phase Tech Speakers Anyone?

Does anyone own Phase Tech speakers or had them in a past?
I came across a pair of 530 ES that are in a great condition, just needed new foams. I took a chance on them - and after the refoam- I am really glad that I did! They sound very nice. 10 inch woofers have plenty of bass and dome tweeter is very clear and sweet. From what I read founder of Phase Tech was the one to patent the dome tweeter.

l would actually like to sell my pair of 530 ES. I too need new foam. Where did you buy yours? Also, I have no idea what to list them for do you have a recommendation?

Thanks!

Questions of value need to be posted (only) in the Dollars and Sense forum.

I have a pair of Phase Tech PC65 speakers in use in my office, and I like the sound and the build quality a lot. The PC65 woofers have unusual solid pistons/cones, so I sent the crumbling drivers to Phase Tech and they sent me back perfectly rebuilt ones. Not the cheapest repair, but now the speakers are back to 100%. I can highly recommend Phase Tech’s customer service and repair shop.

I picked up a pair of PC-60s after trading in my Polk ES-60s, sadly the large speakers were way too big for my room. When the bench guy plugged them in he could not believe the sound that was coming out of the small sealed cabinets, two other people in the store said the same thing. The soundstage on these is unbelievable, they are incredibly musical for the size and price. What's more, they make me smile.

A few months ago I came across a pair of PC 600 HO for sale by the original owner. The foam surrounds were gone and after considerable research I installed new mid-woofers. Yes the company still sells new parts. I don't have a ton of time on these yet but I really like how they sound. Nice bass and mids, crisp clear highs that don't hurt my ears. The oak veneer cabinets are beautiful.

Quality speakers. I used to own a pair of mini monitors. Can't remember the model number, but they had the flat styrofoam woofers. Fast, linear and imaged well. A bit bright. Paired well with a sub. I used it on my computer desk with the the monitors in the near field.

I bought a pair of PC 60's a few years ago. I had to refoam the woofer piston, clean up the cabinets, and replace the grill cloth. After experimenting with the position, they sound best on their sides, with tweeters facing out. The soundstage is wonderful, the music sounds like its coming from 3 feet outside the physical speaker. Good stuff!

That's amazing. I tried what you suggested and noticed the difference in sound right away! Having them in that position will not harm the speakers?

I've had a pair of PC65s for over a decade. Soon after I was given them I sent the solid-cone woofers to be rebuilt by Phase Tech (they still exist and will repair their old drivers!). The speakers get daily use as the front L/R in a 5.1 system — I too have them on their sides with the tweeters to the outside. Lovely, balanced sound!

My 730es I got for $20.
Mint grills and badges too
I'm here researching value to sell,
But now I see agian how uber rare these are....I can't even find a in the wild picture online.

Hi Dannyboy,
Ask your questions of value in the "Dollars and Sense" forum. AK rules forbid these questions in other forums. Good luck.

Thanks for your comments and my apologies, I posted in wrong thread. I have pc 600 and pc800 and always watching for others.

I'm rockin' a pair or Phase Technology PC80 speakers in my bedroom system and they are great.
I have had a pair of PC60's since new and I love the. I am a big fan of the styrofoam woofer cone models and have not heard the more traditional pulp cone speakers.

Odd FACT: PHASETECH not only invented it but owns the patent on the soft dome tweeter.
