I've had several Phase Technology PC series speakers; can't remember all the numbers, except PC-80 bookshelves (the first really decent speakers I ever bought new). Are those floorstanders the 6.5s? Do they have two large woofers amd a mid with flat fronts, and a dome tweet with acoustic foam around 'em? If so, I briefly had 'em, and they are very nice-sounding.
Generally their speakers sound quite good, with very clear sound, especially in the midrange/vocals. Not quite high-end audiophile in terms of sound stage, but still nice. They make very good surround-sound speakers if you put the floorstanders in front, the bookshelves behind, and add their big subwoofer (PC-10?), and in general hold their own against most when as stereo speakers.
Phase Tech speakers are most notable for their flat, pistonic speakers - actually cones of something very much like styrofoam! One problem arises when re-foaming, because of those cones: you need to special order the cones and the felt-like stuff that covers 'em; NOT your usual re-foam job! Those were the only speakers I ended up letting someone else re-foam for me. The acoustic foam around the tweeters usually degrades into something brittle and powdery after 15 years or so. I don't remember the name, but it is made by 3M and is available separately. The tricky part to replacing it is cutting the round bevel surrounding the tweeter.
EDIT: Okay, so I just looked at the 3rd pic. Only one woofer, but still exactly the same kinds of drivers. Nice speakers, those. If you can find the big Phase Tech subwoofer to fill the bottom end, it's worth adding. I finally moved "up and on" from Phase Techs, but still have a soft spot for them. They are a great introduction to "audiophile" sound, still American made (rare these days!), and better speakers than most people ever own. Not as well known as they should be, given their sound quality.
