Philips 212 tonearm question

I didn't say to give up on the tt; just the arm. It'll never be right... and they're not that hard, nor expensive, to find.
 
Nice job! Enjoy it for now and consider a new cartridge. You can clean it with alcohol, let it dry for a few hours, and mix some nice runny epoxy and fill and coat the cracked area with it. Give it overnight to harden.That will do as well as anything.
 
Agree with ARJohn. Save it. Keep the platter level and you should be ok. For cartridges, I like either an AT 440Mla or an Ortofon OM/Digitrac 200NE on my 212. Both sound great to me and were inexpensive.
