Philips 312 channel issue

Hi everyone. I'm working on a Philips 312 I recently found at a flea market ($5!) The issue I'm having seems to be a dead left channel. Here's what I've tried so far:

- Hit the sled and tonearm contacts with some deoxit.
- Wiggled the RCA jack connection/wire and don't seem to get any feedback whatsoever.
- Opened up the table and all all solder connections are good and crimp studs are on tight to their posts.

Nothing has worked. Any suggestions as I'm out of ideas? Haven't even been able to get any left feedback whatsoever. If I touch the contacts on the tonearm I get a hum from the right channel contacts but once I move over to the left channel contacts I get nothing. My only guess is a tonearm rewire which is past my skill set and may be too pricey a repair. Any and all help is appreciated.

Most likely bad RCA cables. If the + is bad you will not get any sound, if the - is bad you get a hum. Replace them entirely.

Thanks for the quick response. I believe you may be on to something. Disconnecting the RCA's from their posts and testing the positives I get hum from the right and nothing from the left. Anyone have any recommendations for good RCA cables that won't break the bank?
