Philips 7831 dial light hiding?

I've read the search threads, and pulled the faceplate last night, but no dial lite? There is a stereo lite, and a lamp which lights up the signal strength meter, but I do not find ANY lamp for the dial??. The linear scale black plastic is solid, such that a lamp behind won't lite the dial(checked with a flashlite), but I do not see any missing or burnt out lamps?

I did not see any notation for a dial lamp on my brief look at a sm?

I found an old thread at audio asylum about on the Philips receivers you remove the long panel directly above the dial, however, there is only ONE bulb for the signal strength meter on that strip, and there are NO other lamp sockets????
Any chance someone with one of these could take a pic of the inside to see if mine has been modified? I'm not aware of ANY receiver not having an illuminated faceplate???
 
A pic maybe? Depends on the unit. I have a Pioneer SX3400 which was manufactured with no dial lights but has only the one behind the signal strength meter.

Sometimes they put a lamp on either end of the glass which makes the dial glow. :idea:
 
I had a Philips 7831 receiver and there was no provision for dial lights on that model, just the stereo led and the tuning meter. I looked in to adding lights to mine but I decided it didn't really need them and it wasn't worth the trouble. FWIW it wasn't uncommon for some manufacturers to have unlit dials on their lower tier models.
