Hey all
I have a nice Philips cd204 I have spent a lot of time on. It arrived in original condition, able to read discs but when pressing stop or eject while playing tracks towards the end of the disc it will spin backwards suddenly and end up scratching the disc if ejecting
I carefully recapped and reflowed all boards including PSU and problem persists.
I had a spare cdm1 driver board so I tried that and carefully checked laser current (set to 500mV).
Also have a spare cdm1 transport and laser, quite a task to swap them and I did but no change
I've cleaned everything, tried adjusting focus height.
Reflowed all the griplets I could see.
It plays tracks just fine (as it did with the other cdm1 spare), even very long compilations with 20 or so tracks. Its just the backwards spinning issue upon stopping and ejecting im trying to solve.
