Not familiar with either, but after a brief web search I'd think the Jamos are the better of the two. The Philips was sold as part of an all-in-one compact shelf system (plus the front panels look somewhat gimicky, which is always a bad sign), so sound quality was probably secondary in the design. The Jamos were sold as standalone speakers by a company known for good speaker design. However, they use foam surrounds on the woofers which will probably need replacement (the surrounds, not the woofers) if it hasn't already been done. Pull up some pictures on the net and make sure the woofers are correct, when surrounds fail, some people will just pull the woofers and replace them with generics.
