Philips GA-247 idler wheel arm misaligned – speeds incorrect

Hello everyone,
I recently bought a Philips GA-247 turntable and I’m having an issue with the idler wheel arm alignment. When I select the speeds, the idler wheel does not touch the correct part of the motor pulley:

• At 16 RPM, instead of touching the thinnest step of the pulley, the idler wheel already sits too low and touches a wider part, so the platter spins at around 34.6 RPM.
• At 33 RPM, it plays close to 45 RPM.
• At 45 RPM, it runs even faster.

From my observation, the problem seems to be that the idler wheel arm sits lower than it should. I suspect that during transport something got loose or misaligned. I already checked:

• The idler wheel itself is fine (rubber is ok).
• The selector lever moves the arm, but the whole arm seems shifted downwards.
• The speeds are consistently off because the wheel never reaches the correct pulley step.

My questions are:

1. Is there an adjustment screw or mechanism for the idler arm height/position on this model?
2. Could it be related to a loose spring or pivot on the idler arm assembly?
3. Has anyone here faced the same issue with Philips or other idler-drive turntables?

I’ll attach some photos to make it clearer. Any guidance would be really appreciated!

I’ve never tried that. I’ve already touched the part where the pin is and tried to push it down, but it didn’t move. Personally, I think it might actually be a bit higher than it should be. Perhaps there’s a way to gently adjust just the pulle, your comment gave me that idea. Thanks, I’ll give it a try!

These are usually affixed with grub screws. You shall have to locate and loosen them to adjust the pulley height.
