Strange. C51 Apollo should be a 2 way with le85 horn with le15 or le14 with le175 potato masher tweeter. This speaker is a hodgepodge of incorrect Jbl drivers. What is present is:

Le14 woofer
Le85 w/o lens
Jbl 075 bullet tweeter

I have a pair of C51s which have also been converted to 3 way at some point in the past. Mine uses LE14, LE85w/lens, and 077. I wonder if this was a somewhat common modification.

It’s kinda weird as both le85, le175, 075 & 077 are all tweeters. The only horn midrange from that period was the mighty 375 that I recall.

I was about to say the same thing. I have a pair. But I know that the C51 designation is mainly for the cabinets, and JBL allowed a fairly wide variety of drivers in those cabinets. So I guess they sold systems that deviated from the "norms".

What bothers me more is the amazingly mismatched grilles.

Mine have the LE15 woofers with the Lansalloy surrounds and the LE85 horns with the L91 Lens.

The LE85 was designed to be crossed over @500Hz, so it can be used as a midrange driver, unlike the LE175 which crosses @1200Hz.
JBL used the LE85 in a some 3 way systems with the 077, the L300 Summit comes to mind.
