Phono Pre + Cartridge

Hi,
I'm looking to upgrade my set-up with a new cartridge and a phono pre.
At the moment I'm using a Luxman pd131 with a Denon da401 tonearm (low mass so I guess I'm looking for a high compliance cart) and a ortofon 2M Red cartridge.
I will use it with my yaqin MC10l tube amp, for the moment I'm using my luxman L85v as a phono pre using the tape out.

So I want a new phono pre and a cartridge, my budget is around 500 euro (= 650 dollar).

I just don't know where to start; should I spend a lot on a phono pre or vice versa?
Any recommendations?

I don't know if it's important but I live in europe!

Oh btw, I listen mostly to jazz (not so much vocal jazz) and rock.

You could get a stylus upgrade and higher compliance with an Ortofon OM 20, 30 or 40. The OM 30 and a Musical Fidelity V-LPS, Cambridge Audio 640P or Clearaudio Nano would fit within your budget.
