Phono Preamp recommendation $150 - $300

Mr. Pig,
Thanks for info. I think either 1 or 2 preferably is my choice, if budget allows. Like switches for cart rotations.

Thanks to all for your experiences. Otherwise choosing is like picking a... in a poke.

I had the Phono 1+ here for an extended stay, it is basically the forerunner of the Phono 2 without the loading options. On the plus side it is an excellent sounding phono stage, and on the downside the soldering of loading resistors was inconvenient. If you can stretch to the Phono 2, you will be getting a piece you can keep for the long haul, a design with no compromises in regards to its convenience and day to day use. Waiting a bit to add to the audio kitty would be a better answer than getting the lesser one that does not meet your cartridge rotation needs.

In my opinion, I don't think you are going to get a better phono stage for the money.

Regards

mkane, I've got my CNC MM on the way from Sachin. How do you think it would compare to the Vista Audio 2?
BTW I'm planning on using it with Pickering XLZ 7500 and SUT
