Picked Up A Pair Of Altec 891A's

long story short a friend of mine is loosing his house and before the stuff is sold he called me and said i can take what's left of his audio system. So I took the altec's I remember he bought these used back in the late 80's they need new grill cloths which I made for him. I had to make frames as the altec didn't have any to attach the grill cloth to.

I haven't heard these in years and I'm cleaning them up later tonight.

So what do you guys think?

I don't know about the 891As, but I am refinishing a set of 887As right now and they sound pretty great for a rather small and inexpensive 2-way bookshelf speaker. What's the driver compliment?

Free speakers are always nice.

I would probabaly gift them to a friend that needed speakers.

Thank you....... Yes it was sad walking into his room downstairs where for so many many years we would listen to music. He had some really nice gear.........

I also have his Genesis Model II's he was going to toss a couple of years ago as they need re foaming. I have those stored where I work.......
 
Man My thoughts and prayers go out to your friend.Nobody should have to lose their home that Sucks !!!

Thank you..... Funny thing is he and his ex wife have become good friends and he's moved into the house he use to live in.........
