Picking up my First..

I managed to find a 2240 on CL with a woodcase. It will be my first marantz. I pick it up on wednesday.

I was wondering if it would be worth picking up a 2250b and putting it in the wood case and getting rid of the 2240? There are a few 2250b's on the local CL, its the only reason I ask.

Also speaker reccomendations? I would prefer bookshelf's, but I am open to suggestions.

I get both models in wood! I am running a small set of Mission speakers. Made in England. Love them.

Go get both and keep 'em! 2240 is a nice unit, and quite rare. 2250B is a beauty too, and as Oerets said, it's got a few nice extra features. I'd pair up some EPI 100's, KLH 17's or Large Advents with either one of those receivers. If you can't get both, go for the 2250B with some Advents.

Picking up the 2240 today.. Also might have a line on a set of ar-4 bookshelf speakers.. would these be a good match?

edit: welp, the guy sold it, despite sayin he would hold it for me. Back to the drawing board
