Pics of your listening space

Somebody post a picture of a speaker, quick!

(Did your bikes make it out OK?)

Two of the six bikes were down there. They got covered in drywall dust and splinters, but came out unscathed. :thmbsp:

The only damage (so far) were some DVDs and VHS tapes the grandkids left on the floor that I hadn't gotten around to picking up. They got wet (sadly, the Milo and Otis DVD my grandson loves over and over wasn't ruined).

Current rotation, Sony PSX-65 TT, Marantz 2270 & JBL 4312's

also pictured is my HT set up with POS Blose.

This isn't my main listening space, but it where I try out a lot of speakers and other equipment before they are brought into the house. The old office chair makes it a pleasure to just sit and enjoy it when I have hit it lucky at the thrift. The five-way switch makes it nice and easy to compare speakers, and will really come in handy when I get around to listing some of the over-flow on CL.

Is there plastic touching the veneer? You may want to put some felt or something on the base to keep it from getting scratched.

That's funny. That's exactly the reason I didn't do it in the first place. But I can keep the monitor in one place. It's my brother that I'm worried about.

But yes, it has rubberized feet.

I was considering an appropriately sized lazy susan but that might block the vents huh?

Pop Quiz: How many of the speakers can you recognize?

you evaluate speakers in that room with a five way switch????

where do I start?

PC as source using FLAC files USB out to
Tecon Model 55 (single ended Pentode with on-board Burr Brown PCM2707 based DAC)
Cain & Cain Abby speakers
Zu Audio Jullian speaker cables
Unity Audio & Oyaide Tunami power cords

Its obviously not ideal, the two PC's are my test reference for my usual reviewing. I am also testing the Peachtree Decco (Scott Nixon) along with a few others (Glow, Tecon) of integrated tube amps with USB DAC stages on board. I am switching my reviewing from PC to Audio (I was once an Audiophiliac) finding products like the Tecon Model 55 which can be had now for just $400 Retail is very different from those days where integrated amps were looked down upon. So now the average PC owner has an unlimited source of music to be encoded in Lossless. You feed a $400 SEP (Single Ended Pentode) amp and mate it to any number of speakers (efficient) and for under $1k you have audiophile quality system.

When I first got into "High End" I spent about $14k and that system was based around a used Sony X777ES, a new Cary SLA75 6550 push pull with triode switch and transfomer mod by Dennis Had, a used Audible Illusions Modulus 2A and new Proac studio monitors cables etc. and to be honest that system fell short compared to something costing 14x less.

This is my office system. I have plans for a new system, once I finish the new 32' x 19' living room. I absolutely love my JBL L100s and DIY subs (Infinity Kappa 12.1D drivers). Creates a lot of noise in my little 18' x 14' office!

It’s hard to describe the euphoria of listing to ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ while watching the actual moon reflecting off the lake water as the soft tube glow illuminates the room. Don

Good looking gear, Don. 14' x 18' is a good size listening room. :music:
