Pilot sa232 cage

Purchased a Pilot SA232 online, seller not so experienced in packing audio equipment. Unit shipped in box full of packing peanuts. The amp basically rolled around like a bowling ball in the box. Miraculously the amp survived at the expense of the amps attached cage. Anyone have, or have a source for the gold cage for one of these amps?

My guess is there isn't a plethora of these cages floating around for sale so your best bets might be

A) Try restoring the cage you have by gently bending it back into shape, if feasible.
B) Try looking for one on the Bay you never know one might pop up so be patient

I would add asking if anyone here has one, intimating for sale, is considered a no-no, per AK rules, outside of "Bartertown"

Finally sorry to hear about the poor packing job that always sucks!!!

Glad to hear that the amp survived, those are supposed to be really nice units.

If you have the original cage, best bet is probably going to be straightening and repairing it. They're mild steel, doesn't take much to flatten them. Some light hammer work with a board poked inside as a backer ought to do the job quite well. Probably have to repaint it.

That’s a real bummer. Can you post a picture of it? Might be able to give some tips to help, if we can view the damage.

You can check the new Hammond cages on Antique Electronic Supply and, if you're very lucky, one could be the same size. Not likely, but worth a try. That's the only source of new cages I'm aware of.
