Pilot SP-210 power supply build photos

Reviving this thread because I am going to build this supply for my SP210 this winter.

Thanks to Nate's detailed photos, I have assembled this parts list:

1 - 186D24 Hammond transformer
1 - 6K49VG Allied transformer
1- Hammond 155H choke
1 - OA2 tube
1 - 6x4 tube
2 - tube sockets for the above tubes
1 - 200uF 350v electrolytic capacitor (Nate used 2 100's)
1 - 2k wirewound 10W (or higher) resistor
1 - Hammond 1590F chassis
1 - fuse holder
1- 11 pin socket for umbilical cord from SP210
1- IEC chassis mount power jack

Should be a fun project. I've had the SP210 for 38 years and never heard it!
Now just need to figure out how to fit tab A into slot B and fold E to cover F, or something like that.
Duct tape will fix the rest...

OK, I got the case patched/drilled/painted and parts mounted:

Now comes the easy part: getting it to work.

That IS the easy part, right?

Thanks for posting the parts list. Best of luck on your project.

38 years?! Hah! I missed that little factoid before...

Yes, you should be home free at this point: wiring it all up should be pretty straightforward now.

It looks great, by the way!

Wiring this up now. This OA2 tube is kind of an odd one...it looks like the tube equivalent of a zener diode?

I've never seen a 'cold cathode' tube before, and I thought the heater connection was missing on the schematic until I looked at the data sheet.

OK, the good news is the power supply seems to work, getting 150 volts out of pin 7 (and BTW that OA2 looks really cool lit up).

The bad news is the preamp seems to not be working! Back to the bench...

Just wondering if you were able to get your preamp working. I too have an SP-210. I'd like to use it with other amps too so am watching this project with interest.

Hi Tom. The answer is not yet, had a series of events that prevented me from continuing this work. But I'm not done yet!

Just curious, rather than removing the socket from my amp, I'm wondering what kind of 11 pin socket one should be looking for.

OK, after a (ahem) slight delay, I can report that the power supply does in fact work, and worked correctly when I first built it. The problems with the preamp were due to operator error :).

Thanks to Redboy for posting this! Here is the schematic Redboy provided:
