Pimp my Genesis

I read somewhere that the red EPI's can melt, although I've never seen it. I think the red and blue EPI tweets sound better than their earlier offerings, that may be psychological but I had some older wooden m150s at the same time as some 100's and thought the 100's were much clearer.

I think Huw's site says something about the new tweet not having the same power handling as the older ones. I'm positive it's clearer, I think it should be matched w/ warmer gear though, bad recordings on these tweets really come through, but great ones are truly awesome. I know it sounds cliche but I have heard things on the new tweets on recordings that I've never heard before. Incredibly revealing.

I'm still on the fence about replacing the tweeters. As Huw noted on his site, many folks rebuild/replace the tweeters after fix up the rest of the speaker. I may be another one of them!

i always wonderd if the cost would be worth replacing my old epicure 3.0 tweets with hues replacemts. http://www.humanspeakers.com/e/parts/002me3.htm my freind has a pair of 3.0 cause of me and he likes the hue tweeters his set came with bad original tweets. if i get the extra money i might just get the hue set sometimes and do some comparisions.

The curved top is designed to minimize reinforcement of refracted sound waves, just like the original. The new tweeter is completely compatible with the existing crossover, and actually sounds a bit better than the old tweeters.
