so life delivered a strain guage cartridge to me and pio1980 was very forthcoming in telling me what it was, what it could do and how to get the most out of it, he actually found the group a preamp to build, then sent me one in the mail already built, I then turned to w1jim who is great at fabricating and designing electronics and he gave me the parts to insert the preamp into a proper box....thanks guys, this truly was karma at work... I'll have pics up soon.
