Pioneeer SX1050 Rebuild

I recently bought a Pioneer SX1050. The sound is great for about 5 minutes then it cuts out. I can get it back if I turn up the volume high enough. I think it needs a rebuild, and I would like to do it but I have no experience with electronics and I'm not sure where to start. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your protection relay is bad.
Use search function to find posts on how to clean.
I have a 1050 that needs help so I will follow your posts on rebuild.

I concur.
I read that Digikey has free shipping if you send them a check for your order. I'm not familiar with the process but the relays are $13. I'd replace it.
Cleaning may work if you don't have the tools or complete skills needed for the replacement. The relay is easily accessible.
