I have had my 1250 for 8 years. It was worked on when I first bought it.They replaced about 100 caps and resistors.Just yesterday a problem came up,no sound. The unit powers up and plays for about 5 seconds and then nothing. All the lights and switches seem to be working. The problem is the same regardless of the selector setting AM/FM/Phono or aux.Any ideas where I should begin

See if unplugging an amp board causes it to be ok. If not, check your protection circuit board, then power supply.
I’d honestly check all power supply voltages first I guess.

When the sound disappears is the protection relay opening?
