Pioneer big surprise

Hi! Just picked up a pair of Pioneer cse321 speakers. I've had a pair of vintage cs series before but bigger so I was expecting a reasonably good sound. Well I was really surprised when they far exceeded expectations. In fact they give a pair of b&w d5's I have a very good run for their money! Anybody out there fot any comments or indo about these little little gems?

I have never seen a Pioneer speaker with a tweeter like that! I wonder if they were ever sold in the US market or if a US serviceman based in Japan brought a pair back with him? They look pretty cool.

If I came across a pair in a thrift store, I'd likely pick them up just for the tweeters alone! (lol)

Carbon fiber cone, looks like a metal (aluminum, titanium?) tweeter. Nice.

Thanks guys. Sorry should have said; I'm based in sweden and they were actually made in germany according to the label on the back. The bass driver cone looks to me to be made of paper. Gonna keep them hot for a week but then I'll be back to my trusty fisher ste1080's. Bought the pioneers for 7dollars so I'm well pleased. Thanks again.

Spoke too soon. It appears to be a carbon fibre/paper blend. They're down as keepers for the forseeable future. It's little finds like this that keep up the fun of the whole thing.
