Pioneer blue fluoroscan digital tuner options

I know about the TX-D1000, and I've read that it's the "only" tuner that matches the rest of the fluoroscan gear. But then not too long ago I came across a TX-720 tuner for dirt cheap (with an SA-720 amp), and it also has the blue fluoroscan display. It does have the less attractively styled tall buttons though.

Were there any other blue fluoroscan digital tuners made by Pioneer? I'd love a TX-D1000, but i keep missing out on eBay. Kinda want to put the tx-720 in my system, but also kinda want to keep it with the sa-720, since they match.

How does the tx-720 compare to the tx-d1000? And are there any other digital tuners out there with blue fluoroscan displays?

Well, I didn't see anyone jumping to answer this... so on a whim I kinda answered it myself. The TX-940 tuner is a GREEN fluoroscan display. I found one for really cheap on eBay and I... un-greened it. Then blued it. :D Now it's resting on top of my secondary (tertiary?) system, and will probably go into my main system soon (I need to make room for it on the rack)

The TX-940 is a 4-gang equivalent, and it's the first tuner I've got that picks up FM almost as good as the radio in my jeep, using just an indoor dipole. The blue is a near-perfect match for the other Fluoroscan components. The dark gray isn't my favorite, but until a TX-D1000 finds its way into my lap, it'll be fine. The process was very time consuming, and in the process I pretty much wrecked a TX-950 tuner. But that one was even cheaper, and it's a piece of junk compared to the TX-940 anyhow.

How did you make it blue? I have a green LED tuner as well and wanna make it match my fluoroscan gear. Thanks

Usually the color of the display is just an appropriately colored plastic filter. So just put in a different color filter. The VFD display themselves are usually white.
