I have a Pioneer C-90 pre-amp M-90 amp. I thought that the C-90 had lost its left channel out-put but now have isolated the problem to the RCA input of the M-90. The left channel works if I twist the RCA plug and hold it. I now use the CD input on the M-90 and do not have the problem. Is there any difference between the two input jacks? Can the RCA plug be replaced on the M-90?

Yeah. But it might be easier to check the solder connections on the inside, and if wonky, resolder them. Have you considered rolling interconnect cables to see if the cable end is bad?
There may be a difference between the main input on the M90 and the CD input. If you have the manual, you should be able to check the specs for input voltages on each input.
