Folks,

New member here, and first post.

I have acquired a pair of CS-801's, I remember these from my teenage years in the 70's, and it was fun to find these at a decent price since they need a little work.

I've looked at the other threads on these, and just curious: anyone out there have a schematic for the CS-801a crossover? I'm really curious as to the difference between that and the CS-801 version. The 801 schematic is easy to find online, but not the 801a, anyone have it?

Meanwhile, an observation as I've been working on these 801s, and a major Deja Vue: how soft that 70's Japanese hardware is! On one speaker I managed to break 3 screws getting the drivers out by hand. Reminded me of trying to get crankcase bolts out of my old 77 Suzuki. Crikey. Already have an order to McMaster for new hardware.

I'm curious to know the difference as well - the 801 non A variant seems to be sought after quite a bit more than the 801A variant.

Yep, still here and still wondering, too! Meanwhile, I'm still using my 801's in my workshop listening area, and still liking them! Love those midrange horns (aka "squawkers") for my aged ears. Lotsa punch in the mids!

Also now have an original set of CS-77A's that need restoring. Always more projects, eh?

Well **** I should open up these and map them then.

I sealed them up due to water damage though so….. I’m not going to.

Dammit.
