I am looking for a pair (working preferably). We have a pair of Pioneer CS-922A that are pretty much shot, but hold sentimental value to my wife and I. Does anyone have a pair they want to get rid of?
You should post this in Bartertown. It's basically an offer to buy which is only supposed to appear there. Not to be a wet blanket, I do hope you find a pair.
I posted on another thread and someone suggested becoming a subscriber. So I did and posted in barter town. Heres hoping someone has a pair the want to get rid of!
Also keep an eye on Ebay in a radius from your zip using the search functions on the left side of your screen once you get into consumer electronics section. Or set up email alerts from ebay. If you find them local you can pick them up rather than having them shipped.
Found a thread on these, look interesting, made for the German market and sold in military PX's. They look Kabuki but some posters said they don't sound like it. You may have trouble finding a pair but it sounds like they do exist! [Note: that was your other current thread I guess so you already know all that...duh. ]
Can you describe 'pretty much shot' in more detail? Would you be interested in doing restoration work if it can be done?

Im going to hook them up again this weekend. Ill have a list of what is wrong with them. I know the woofers need to be refoamed, and at least one of the controls just spins . Someone suggested maybe the knob was broken and not the actual pot that its connected to. Thanks for the link by the way.
I didn't answer the question you asked, but yes I'm willing to restore if possible. I tackled recapping an amp with a ton of help from some other Ak'ers i bet i could handle these with some help!
I bet you can handle this. That pot can be replaced if it's really broken. The only real problem might be any dead drivers but unless they are unique to that model they should be obtainable. Post some pics! And don't play them with any kind of volume if the foams are shot. If they're totally gone you can play them laying on their backs to make sure all drivers are working, but otherwise you risk damaging the voice coil.
It would be way more cool to have your own pair playing like new.
