Pioneer CS-99 (spkr) vs. CS-99a?

I have a pair of Pioneer CS-99s (as the second owner) with refoamed midtweets. The sound is sweet and fairly detailed, but surprisingly light on bass considering the 15-inch woofers. In any event, I am predisposed to liking them, but would consider switching to another speaker system.

Anyone have experience with the CS-99 vs. the CS-99a? I see them on eBay from time to time...

Any other comments welcome, especially with regard to other legacy speakers such as the Advents.

Nobody has responded so will comment. I do not have CS-99 but I do have a few others. The Pioneer speakers I have sound equally good not a big difference. Some tracks sound better than others or this track sounds better on this speaker but overall can't say one is superior to the other.

I do have CS-99a and I like them and maybe if I could only pick one might be the choice.

My thought is don't expect a huge difference.

Speakers are expensive to ship. It is one thing to say I want a certain speaker and another to actually get one.

I look for speakers locally either from eBay or CL. Have a list and be patient for the right deal. I sort eBay speakers by distance to see whats available locally. CS-99a's are not rare I would be patient and wait for good deal.
