Pioneer CS-A500 posts and tweeter issues

I just picked up a pair of Pioneer CS-A500s ( I have a Kibuki addiction...). I have a couple of issues to deal with, but first, one of them has no binding posts at all. On the other one, they are both loose. I have heard that this is a known issue on early Pioneers. Is there a preferred method of replacing or upgrading them to newer 5-way posts?

Also, on one of them, the tweeter has been replaced with a Realistic 40-1278B horn driver It has a capacitor soldered to the pos terminal, but the other end is free.... not sure what is going on there. The tweeter on the other one needs a refoam, so once I get them to sing, I can either replace the one with the bad surround with another little horn, or buy replacement originals.Any thoughts or direction on these would be appreciated.

Updating the binding posts with 5 way posts should be relatively easy if you have some technical skills. Post pictures of the issues when you are able.

Have a friend in need (don't we all!)

He's looking for a pair of tweeters for a pair of Pioneer CS-A500 and is looking for a pair of tweeters. I told him to just find whatever to throw in there but he's adamant about keeping it real.

Question of the day is does anyone know what the tweeter # for this is and what other models it may have been used in?

I have confirmed that the Pioneer number for the tweeter is #77-90F. There doesn't appear to be many of them around. The little Realistic horn looks virtually new, but if I'm going to replace something non-OEM, I think I would rather stick with a cone tweeter. Anyone have any suggestions for something suitable?

specs for the CS-A500, note the sensitivity rating of 94dB, you'll need a replacement that can reach that loudness level

I've had a set of Coral 2H-15A Horn Tweeters sitting around from a free set of Coral BX-300 Speakers. The Coral woofers and mids looked like someone had stabbed them several times with a knife; the only thing I could salvage were the horn tweeters.

I have a set of Pioneer CS-A500's that I use daily, and I like them, but always felt the high end needed something. Turns out the mounting holes on the Coral 2H-15A Horns are identical to the mounting holes on the Pioneer CS-A500's.

I put a meter on the 2H-15A's and they measure out to 7.0 ohm.
The Pioneer 77-90F cone tweeters measure out to...

Making any progress with the CS-A500 speakers ?

Not so much... in fact, I'm going backwards. I pulled the other drivers to see if everything else was good, and found that one of the woofers is dead. No sound and 22- 24 ohms across the terminals. I found a matching Radio Shack horn on eBay, so I may just bite the bullet (...a little "Tweeter" joke there...bullet tweeter... get it?), and go with the horns in both. ...and if you think finding tweeters for these things is hard, try finding woofers. I found a suitable Goldwood aftermarket that looks like it will fit, but then I have the whole adjust-the-crossover stuff to deal with.

Plan C is to refoam the one tweeter I have and put all the good drivers in one cabinet, and all of the aftermarket stuff in the other. I'm half deaf, so it may not make a great deal of difference to my ears. They will make a great complement to my (un)matched pair of Sansui speakers;1 SP 5500X and 1 SP 7500X.

Of course, if anyone has any original bits lying around that they are willing to part with, I'm open.
