pioneer CS series speakers

Ive got a CS 51 from about '67. Its a little book shelf type.
The woofer is way over built for its size i think around 4 to 5 inchs. If not smaller than that. And fairly rare to boot.

Thanks for putting up the brochure on the CS-R speakers, great memories!!!

I lusted after these for months and then I gave up because I didn't have that kind of money to throw around at the time. A friend did buy a pair of 500's and they sounded great with his Pioneer receiver, nice balanced sound. Oh well.

I have my Bro's Pioneer Sound Project 300 reciever with the matching CS-R300 speakers, good background music system. The CS-300s are fairly efficient and extremely well-built, especially for an entry-level system, I call them the baby JBL wanna-be's for the build and sound. Aside from the efficiency pretty much any of the AR 2-ways from that period sounds much better to me.

I have a pair of pioneer cs-801a's and I bought them because they looked like a pair of klipsch heresys.I had sold my heresys and these crossed my path.Great sounding rock speaker.

Amongst the 8 pairs of speakers I own,I have a pair of Pioneer CS99AA's which I love,and also a pair of CS 811's.The 811's will be a project for me.They need to be reveneered,and I need to replace some of the dustcaps.The surrounds are all in great shape.here are the pics:

I used to have a pair of the CS 801's with midrange and tweeter horns hooked up to my Pioneer 828 --- What a killer sound back in the day.

I have mint pair of those, now. I really like the way they sound, and love the look. It is my understanding they were not available here in the states, only abroad.
