Pioneer ct-8282/7272 Part Swap

My ct-f8282 daily driver died a couple days ago, and I'm looking at a 7272 to replace it for the time being. The 7272 I'm seeing on ebay looks like a great deal, but it's missing the plastic take-up cog.

First, I'm wondering if I can swap the one from my 8282 on to the new guy.

Second, I'm wondering how to remove it. The repair manual has very little [nothing] to say on this matter, and I was hoping to gather some good old fashioned technician wisdom before I break something.

Also, I'm not sure if I'm using the correct terminology for the part in question, so I attached a picture of the 7272 and said missing component.

the t/u assy on the 7x machine is RXA-740 (supply reels are RXA-741 )
the t/u assy on the 8x machine is RXA-560 (supply reels are RXA-563 )
the t/u assy on the 9x machine is RXA-560 (supply reels are RXA-562.)

No deeper info available.

In case you find a listing of the individual components of RXA-740, attached are the other machines diagrams.
I don't know how the caps and cassette spindles are retained on the reel spindle. Never had to pull one apart that far.

Thank you much! Time to see how/if it applies to Pioneer.

Update: You can compress the spindle itself against the spring, and the cap comes right off.
