Pioneer CT-F1000 G.W. Find!

Brad Muller

I found this Pioneer CT-F1000 cassette deck today at the G.W. Although I paid more than usual, I'm amazed at how well it performs. It just fired right up and played perfectly! Cosmetics are about a 9.5. It's a little dusty, but should clean up quite nicely. Brad

Thanks Guys, FF and RW are a slight bit noisy, but still work well. A belt and tire change is probably in order. All in all though, a nice machine. Brad

Wow, nice score. That is a monster deck to run across at a thrift. :thmbsp:

I found a CTF-950 at a Salvation Army awhile back, and it's one sweet unit - I didn't think you could expect much from a cassette deck until I talked with Retrokeeper, and heard the high end units...

Good deal, congrats! :thmbsp: Yeah, I thought the days of cassettes were over too, but it's hard to walk away from some of the good decks. Especially the ones that cost a small fortune when they were new, and when you find them for practically free. :D

Are those Koss Pro 4AA's? That's something I have been hoping tp find on my rounds. They were THE headpone in the 70's. Liquid filled and heavy as lead. My original pair is long gone. Oh and the Pioneer is pretty sweet also.

I used a CTF-1000 for years. It was my favorite of all time. Beautiful, flexible, well built. I miss it. Congrats to you! It'll be a friend for life.

I am gathering that you guys think I should keep this Pioneer for life and not ever flip it? Sometimes you do have to keep something for yourself.:scratch2: It is a super cool unit.:scratch2: Maybe I'll hook it up to my silver Pioneer gear and see how she looks. Thanks guys, Brad

It just won't look right with blue metered stuff, so you'll have to send it my way. It's not my rule, but it's still a rule. :D

If you want to flip it, I'm motivated. :thmbsp:  If I only knew back then what I've learned from AK, I would never had let the CTF-1000 go.

No machine gun, but how about twin Desert Eagles?
