Hi tapetech,
Thanks for your links but Amazon UK does not ship that motor to U.S. address so I need to look somewhere. Do you know any other sources to buy it? Thanks

I am very interested in this as well, as I have this deck, and have the belt and idler tire kit and instructions for the install, and also some excellent threads her in AK to guide me.

I have read enough to convince me to rebuild or replace the motor while I am in there, and the AKer who did rebuild these, is not able to devote the time right now.

Please keep us posted on your work......:lurk:

Teac used to sell the RF-510T, but now they sell a substitute. I have not ordered it, so I don't know what the sub is. I guess you could order it and see. It should work, whatever it is.

Teac p/n is 5370002502

Thanks tapetech, I just emailed TEAC for the motor. Hope I will get answer soon and will post the result when done.

This is email I received from TEAC

Dear Customer,

That part has been discontinued and there is no replacement. It would be extremely unlikely if one of our authorized warranty service stations would still have a part that old in stock but you can find your nearest service center by calling 800-447-8322.

Sincerely

Gary Candelas

That's too bad. Last time I checked, they stocked it.

Try finding any new 12 or 9 volt capstan motor and remove the speed regulation circuit board inside. I have heard of people doing that and having good results. In theory, it should work.

Any motor that you need can still be obtained. I have done research and found a source of many motors. The only problem is that I would have to order a number of them which takes an investment.
The Teac motor was for the MOTOR,RL V-750/770/800/112MK3
and it looks like they charged $14 for it in 2001.
If a spec of what you need is defined I can go to get what you need.
The RF510 was probably succeeded by the RF520-TB motor. These are known as 33mm motors. One for 24 volts and the other two are 12 V motor the two 12 Volt motors are 12V, 31500 RPM at 15mA or the 12V, 5500RPM at 35mA.
It all depends on what you need and what will fit.
Sometimes making a few measurements and then some figuring out what you need is all there is between you and the part that is required. Contact me if you want to pursue this further.

skywavebe and tapetech, thank you very much for your inputs. I will check my deck and get back as soon as I can. Thanks a lot.

I found this online store seems to have the RF-510T motor for the CT-F1250. It costs $18 + $8 shipping. Hope this help.
www.audioproz.com and search for RF-510T

Problem with those is that they are all used, salvaged motors. New would be the best option. If they are in good condition, however, I guess they would be better than nothing.

Ooop thanks for the info tapetech. I never knew that these are used. I thought they are new. So no buy then. Will loo somewhere.

I thought I might buy 2 of those motors, so I could have a 1 in 3 chance of refurbishing the motor, as detailed in a thread here on AK.

The link now states that the site has been suspended. Sounds like someone 'forgot to pay the phone bill' ? :thumbsdn:
