Pioneer CT-F9191 not functioning - Help!

Good evening AK,

So, a few years ago I was lucky enough to to pick up a Pioneer CT-F9191 from a guy who just had it sitting in his garage, for $50. I didn't have a clue, at the time, what I had. I took it to my audio tech and had him take a look at it. He replaced the belts and the transport, if I remember correctly. Or at least had to do some work on it. Also, gave it a good cleaning and lube service and updated the lights. Afterwards, it was running like a top! Admittedly, it's the least used component in my system. As such, it's probably been sitting on my audio rack, unused, for about a year. I decided to fire it up today, and nothing... It won't play, FF, Rewind, nothing. My question (and my hope) is that it just needs a little general maintenance and it will fire up again? I've worked on Turntables, speakers, and receivers, but never a cassette deck, and I don't really know much about the inner workings of these machines. Can someone point me in the right direction? Give me a crash course on general maintenance requirements?

Any and all help and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

So 100% dead. No lights or anything. Check all fuses. Also check that all power supplies have the correct output DC voltage.
 
Exactly. If dead as in no power, no lights, like it wasn't even plugged in (it is plugged in right?), then power supply. However, if you do have power and lights, but no functions, I would check the tape presence snap switch on the top right of the transport. This switch is actuated by the small metal pin on the lower right side of the cassette well that gets depressed when you insert a cassette. These commonly go bad and are still readily available in the exact format required.
 
UPDATE:

Thank you to everyone for the responses. My initial post was incorrect as far as functionality. When I first put the cassette in and realized it would not rewind or play, I took it back out and tested the functions with no tape installed. I completely forgot about the presence switches... (brain fart).. So, what I'm actually seeing now, after my der-der-der moment, is this - Yes, I have power. The lights, meters, etc. are working. The FF function works, Rewind does not, and the heads move as they should in play mode, but no sound is being produced. All the cables and inputs are set up properly. So what now?
 
Could it be the 3 micro switches? I saw a video while researching where the gentleman working on the unit mentioned that those 3 switches often go bad and it's probably a good idea to go ahead and replace them. Could this explain what's happening?
 
The three snap switches shouldn't affect muting, and two of them are only for record protect and CrO2 detect. But the right side one turns on the transport functions and the actuating lever mechanically unlocks the head bridge, allowing it to move upwards.
