hello
I recently purchased a pioneer CT-W501R cassette deck from goodwill for $8. I bought it then plugged it in to test it out. To no surprise, I could here the motor moving but no movement from the reels indicating bad belts.
I’ve since replaced the belts but this is where I ran into problems. Whenever I start the machine up, it runs deck A for like 2 seconds then switches out to deck B and then restarts the process. It continues this cycle indefinitely and pressing any buttons seems to have no effect. Also, the part that pulls the playback head upwards seems to be jammed in place preventing me from opening the cassette door. I’m thinking this might have something to do with the problem because the machine is sensing a cassette is in place when there is nothing inserted
