Pioneer DSS-90?

Has anyone heard of a Pioneer DSS-90 300 Watt speaker? Someone offered me a pair, but I'm nowhere near an expert on speakers. And searching the internet find absolutely no information on these speakers. Not even a question or past sale on EBay. I know a lot of Pioneer Speakers were ok at best. But I do know that in general the DSS Series seems to be a better quality than normal.

I don’t believe they had a 90 but ?

The DSS-9 were pretty find sounding speaker with beryllium tweeters

I didn't think so either. But here a picture of the model number on the back. And I can't find them even mentioned anywhere. Totally confusing. Maybe that's a model DSS-9D? Looks like a 0 but I am old

DSS-9D. They’re very good speakers with super fragile woofer cones.

Excellent speakers. Once I got a pair I ended my vintage speaker search and have never wanted to change.

Also the woofer cones aren’t fragile in use, only if you smack into them

I have a DSS 5 and it too is a very good speaker; but the 9D is the top of the line. So, say yes to that friend. If the woofer needs to be re-foamed, come back here and ask advice. They are fragile to being handled, so don't handle it.
