Pioneer Elite SX-A9 2 channel integrated amp

Hello,

I am fairly new to this forum and wasn't sure where to post this. But I currently own the Pioneer Elite SX-A9 2 channel integrated amplifier. I am pretty happy with the performance on it but am always wondering if I could do better. I was thinking about using it as a pre-amp and adding an external tube amp to change the sound. Here is some information on my specific amp.

Your receiver seems to be quite good. What speakers are you using? Most feel as though the best way to improve a system is to upgrade the speakers. Peace and goodwill.

Pioneer sold out to Onkyo, who will probably rebrand some of their equipment as Pioneer. Their new stuff, prior to the sale, is really very good. Hope the same will be said in the future if they keep the brand alive.

Yeah, this unit is from a few years ago. It is very good, just really wondering how tube gear sounds.
