Pioneer HPM-1500

I have these Pioneer HPM-1500's since new, purchased in 1977 while in the Navy with a Kenwood KR-9600. I need to recap my Kenwood KR-9600 and am looking for a replacement Amp or receiver to use in the mean time, so I have a stupid question, what is a good amp/receiver?

If it's just a temporary replacement and you're buying new, the Onkyo TX-8020 looks like a good choice. Runs about $150.

Youll get tons of suggestions.Ive owned both the 150/1500's in the distant past before tubes and any solid state amp/integrated or receiver will wake them speakers up that's sporting more than 60-80 wpc,
If your planning on staying with solid state a nice pioneer integrated amp such as these SA series will match up great
SA-9900, SA-9800, SA-9500, SA-9100 and your keeping to matching pioneer components
I rebuilt a pioneer SA 8500 matched with Pioneer hpm 60 speakers yrs ago for my youngest daughter and shes still rocking that system

Many amps and receivers will drive your speakers temporarily, but look towards the future. I personally like to have matching components.

Edit your profile to include your location. I would look for smaller Pioneer receiver such as SX-750. It is always good to have backup. The SX-750 or similar will drive those speakers no problem.
