Hi,

Im restoring my HPM-40, applied veneer on it, repainted the back and the front + changed the cap on the crossover. The only missing thing is the instruction paper on the back. I dont have that.
If you have one could you please make a photo about it and send it to my address? Its bencce <at> Gmail.
Thanks very much

My pair looks like there was never anything on the back, except what looks
like a small letter/number serial tag.

There are two different service manuals available at hifiengine.com.

The early one (for HPM-40 & HPM-60) from 1976 is the same as the one I extracted the detail from in my previous post.

A later manual (for HPM-40, HPM-60 and HPM-100) from 1978 shows no Operating Guide attached to any model.

That implies the Operating Guide was dropped as a feature on later models of the line. It also suggests a need to verify a given sample's manufacture date to guarantee an accurate period restoration (assuming it can be established when exactly the manufacturing change occurred!).

Check out the YT video by J Gabriel Pérez. Operating Guide shown at 0:05

Not clear enough to print a copy from -- just a glimpse of what is being sought.

Seems the document was attached to HPM-40 having the early 25-730A woofer and 45-710A tweeter, but not to units sporting the later 25-737A woofer and 45-711B tweeter.

(Speculation from someone who's no HPM expert by any stretch of the imagination ... )

Hi - yes, thats it. I have a first gen HPM, not sure about the later models. I also have the 4 staples on the back but the paper is missing. I contacted a few hpm owners on facebook but it seems that no one has it anyore :(

Hi!

I happen to have two pairs of HPM-40. Both seems to be 1st gen and one of the pairs still have the paper tags on the back! Not in mint condition, but should be okey for making a copy.

As I am planing to restore mine too, I will try to take the papers off. Could try to make scan copy (if my scanner still works…).

Here is just a quick picture of one of my HPM-40s. Don’t know the Woofer and tweeter model in this particular speaker(s) yet, but in the other pair (where the papers are missing/gone) - I have; Woofer 25-730A , Tweeter 45-710A and Super tweeter HP-015A-1.

Hi HM-2!
Thank you! If you can make a good quality picture about it with a good resolution its perfectly fine for me :)

How come you have 2 pairs?:)

Ok, I have better camera and will email you a high res picture then.

Very good question! :) I found the other pair cheap and close by, couldn´t resist.. :D Anyway, I have promised a friend that she can have them after I fixed them up a bit. So I will only keep one pair. Also have the HPM-70, and are looking for HPM-100.
