Pioneer HPM-900 Refresh

very well done sir. veneer projects are very rewarding.

I like that finish you used and would like to try it. I used a tung oil on a red birch veneer on my first project that came out well. But I'm going for that one next time.

You know what they say about oils to build a beautiful finish-
Coat it once a day for a week, once a week for a month, once a month for a year and once a year forever.

I wanted something a little more durable and less time consuming!

The next step is to either re-cover the grills or build new ones and figure out stands. I have an 11 month old daughter and I worry about her little hands on the graphite cones. I'm thinking about maybe building a wood framed grill or at the very least adding some reinforcement bars in the original in front of the woofer. I wish these had a metal mesh over the woofer like Yamaha NS-1000s. Maybe I could fit a stock metal mesh 12" grill. Anyone have experience here or have other thoughts?
