Pioneer Laserdisc/CD Player Not Turning On

Hi all, I have a Pioneer CLD-S104 Laserdisc/CD player that is not turning on at all. It hasn't turned on ever since my house experienced a power surge years ago and I've left it in a closet until now. I feel like my electronic repairing skills are good enough now that I might be able to fix it myself. Did something like the power transformer burn out? Thanks!

Start with the fuse, and work inwards. Check the transformer AC output, and rectifier DC. Then check any regulated supplies.

Power surges, especially lightning induced surges, can be fairly catastrophic. Hopefully, the power supply protection has worked...
