I just picked up a real clean pl-l800 linear turntable. It needed a new sylus ($70) and i thought that was all. right channel does not work. when its on and i put my hand near the tonearm i get alot of feedback on right. when it plays it only plays left channel. any sugestions on what could be wrong? Thankx Rich

It's not feedback, it's hum & noise from an open channel. You may have a wiring problem inside the TT, an open shield at the RCA plug, or an open cartridge. If the thing normally mutes when its not cued down and it's still noisy in one channel and silent in the other, it's likely a defective cable/open shield.

Swap left and right channels at the cartridge. If now it's the other channel that does not work - it's bad cartridge. If the same channel - headshell/tonearm wiring.

which wires do i swap to see what is bad pl-l800

I don't quite understand what you are doing. Could you provide more detail on what is connected to where. Regarding the cart wire swap - swap LG and RG and also L and R.
