Yes, the DA503 is 8v/55ma axial leads, I'm out of that one, the closest I have is 8v/100ma, it runs pretty cool so it might be an option? Dave. :scratch2:

That would be cool if you could. The remote was optional, so this would have been a great way to get folks back in the sales room.

Well it's been my belief all along that Silver Pioneer can be credited for high price tags for these P-D70's among other items but I think this thread has just blown this particular auction through the roof. Doc, I think you should get a commission on this one. Thanks for all those super cool scans BTW, I always look forward to seeing what your up to next.

There is a very nice headphone jack right there on the front of the unit, with a volume slider...

I emailed the guy about not testing it. he has now and he has updated the listing with the info. for those watching it and havent checked on it recently.

It looks like that one needs a little attention to make it work. Probably will not draw much of a price. Could be a deal for someone who knows how to fix it. Or, it may not even be repairable...

Ummm, being an OLD CD player..... isn't it likely that the laser will go kaput some time in the near future and spares will be impossible to find?........

One of these poped up on craigslist yesterday for $100, hopefully he still has it! I have been looking for a nice CDP like this for a while now.

Personally I would avoid them. Most, if not all, of the drawer parts are un-available. Same thing with the lasers. What I can't believe is it went for MORE than my new Marantz "A" rated player. :scratch2:( which sounds better than my old Lux tubed unit, that cost $1500 in 1987 :sigh: )
In my experience, the older players suffer from "digititus", and sound unacceptable, but there are exceptions.

I am pretty sure it's gone. I saw that several days ago. No return call.
 
Must be a different one, as Im going to look at it in a few hours. Anything specific I should check for? I plan on bringing a set of headphones and a CD to test it. Just wondering if there is anything else I should be on the lookout for? Looks like a cool player, will fit in nicley in my rig, although I only own about 10 cd's!

I would just make sure it works since parts are hard to come by, if you get there and decide you don't want it for yourself, I'll buy it. I could even use a parts unit too for that matter. Good Luck!
