Hey there friends, I recently acquired a Pioneer PD-4550 CD deck (10 bucks!) that is in near-perfect cosmetic condition. The problem is when I try to play a CD, it spins the disc twice then gives out. I took it apart to take a peek inside, and the lens was loose in the unit (but sources around the web tell me that probably happened when I took it apart) so I put it back in place and the same issue happens. The inside looks quite pristine awell but I'mnot a professional, at the very least no clear damage to the mechanics and no visible damage to the electronics. I am pretty much a complete newbie to this stuff so I could be doing something very basic wrong :P. All I have in my setup is the deck itself, and a pair of Beyerdynamic headphones. Also as a side note, when I open the place where you put the CD, it takes a long time after I press the button, like 10 seconds I think.

If the lens fell out it needs to be cleaned on both sides then glued back in. Wood glue works. Don't get any on the lens surface and wear cotton or vinyl gloves so you don't get finger oil on the lens.

I seem to be out of wood glue, would tacky glue workk? It is PVA glue after all.
 
FIXED! I did as doctor audio said and it is working like a charm, sounds wonderful. 10 dollars and a couple hours of time and I have a great deck now! Hooray! Thank you guys :)
