Hi guys,
I've been collecting devices for some time, and now I have space and I want to use them all!!!, but many of them are not working.
Slowly but nonstop, I've been fixing many of them, and buying test equipment, Signal generator for the decks, portable oscilloscope.....
What I mean is... please, don't shoot me, Im learning and slow XD
About the PD-S501, I always wanted one of those players that plays CDs upside down... I've got it for a "normal" price as "needs a laser".
As you now, Pioneers tend to loose the lens because old glue, the last owner tried to glue it back, but used superglue, fog inside.... bye bye....
I found a "PEA1030" replacement at Aliexpress, for more $$$ than the player itself :/
SITUATION AND PROBLEM.
Transport serviced and tested using TEST mode, Pickup moves freely, spindle spins...
Pickup replaced, it shows light but still not working, it cant detect CDs, I can see the pickup trying to focus, but nope.
BTW, the pickup came inside an antistatic bag, but without the blob of solder for protection, and I have the feeling its not new :/
Already tried the VR152 FO.GAN (Focus Servo Loop Gain) in all the possible positions.
I've been looking into the test points:
TP1.6 (FCS.ERR) Focus Offset: expected/measured: 150mv(+-50mv) / 140mv.
TP1.1 (RF) RF Level: expected/measured: 1.2vpp(+-0.1v) / 700ma (picture). Adjustement is tried at VR1 Laser Diode Power (the mini pot in the pickup flex cable), best I've got is 800ma.
TP1.6 (FCS.ERR) Focus S Curve (F.Error Signal)
I've got an inverted Curve, and values not even close :/
What do you think guys? should I keep checking around? do you think the ""new"" pickup is bad?
