Pioneer PL-12D or Kenwood KA 4100R

Hello, I have a Pioneer PL-12D at the moment. I have been looking for something a little better though something maybe with at least semi auto. I have found a Kenwood KD 4100R that looks promising. The gentleman says all of the functions work and it has a Realistic/shure cartridge. My main question is will this be an actual upgrade over my current turntable? How dependable is the Kenwood TT? I know they are both old but the Pioneer doesn't have a lot of parts to worry about it seems. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. I did buy it. It plays. The only thing that is not working is the full auto but I can hear the motor so I assume the belt needs to be replaced. I will be swapping the cartridge out. I like the Shure m93e I have with a m91ed replacement stylus. The Kenwood does track waaayy better.

That Kenwood uses little belts for the full automation system, so both auto lead in and auto return. It's quite common for these belts to lose their elasticity.

It is a direct drive, so no belt on the main drive system.

The M93 is the exact same as the M91 internally, it may just look differently from the exterior. I, too, enjoy the M91 quite a bit.
