Pioneer PL 35 setup help?

Having bought a nice condition Pioneer PL A -35 tt off E Bay , I have been very grateful to this forums users for advice regarding the small anti skate weight that it uses .
Mine was lost but I have carefully made a weight of (hopefully) the correct grammes
The question I wanted to ask ,was just how does the cord , twine , fishing line (or whatever has been used to suspend the weight ) need positioning on the arm with the graduations on it (The one attached to the tone arm)
The impulse is to set it opposite the bent arm that carries the string ??
I am eager to get it fired up ,as its in really nice condition and apart from a new belt ,and a good clean and oil , this is the only thing that bothers me!!

What I was trying to establish ,has the 'rod' got the 5 /6 different grooves in it , for locating the filament at different spacings to increase or decrease the anti skate pressure ?
Would like to hear how successful a system it was (I guess it wasnt that successful ) as its a bit of a rarity??

Starting from the inside to the outer end, the notches are in increment of 0.5 gram.

The setting in the picture is for -1.5 gram. :music:

I put a new belt on her today and oiled and cleaned her too.
Put a 3 pin plug for the UK , on in place of the 2 pin one and fired it up.
Not at all bad , the stylus looks ok under close scrutiny, its a Pioneer PC-50
cartridge ,but I do wonder if I ought to treat it to something that will make it really sing , or is it ok or is this TT just an also ran??
I have a Shure M75- 6S fitted with a 91ED stylus on another Ferguson deck I am going to sell s wondered if that might be a better bet , or get a new one , or just not bother ??

For your own enjoyment, you may want to consider a HE or even a top of the line SAS stylus for the Shure M75-6S cartridge. :music:
