Hi All!
Need some help with a Pioneer PL-50 Turntable that I picked up.
A number of problems.
1) It looks like at some point someone may have re-wired the leads from the terminal strip board to the tonearm wires. Upon inspection, it looks like the yellow wire was completely detached. The rest of the wires were tenuously soldered at best. So I need to new set of wires for the tonearm.
First question - shouldn't the wires for the tonearm go all the way to the terminal strip board without these little jumpers in the middle?
Second Question - There isn't an obvious connection for the yellow wire (ground?). The other wires correspond to the 4 wires in the tone arm.
Third question - Where can I source the wires I need?
2) The small bulb under the "Overhang index stand" (The small red raised wedge) is burned out. Replacement ideas?
3) The Center Shaft Assembly seems to have more parts in the exploded diagram than were actually in there when I opened it. While the exploded diagram seems to indicate a Rubber Mat (#3) and The Shaft Rubber (#7), whenI opened it, I only found one piece at the bottom of the shaft cap which was deteriorated and covered in grease. (See picture).
First Question - So what parts do I actually need and where can I source?
Second Question - What kind of lubrication should go in there?
I'm sure I'll have more questions but that's a start. Would appreciate any guidance and any advice. Thanks!
