Pioneer PL-510 cart/stylus recommendations?

Recently acquired a Pioneer PL-510 TT and wonder what would be a good cart/stylus to go with it?

There is a new Empire 2000(?) cartridge with a new Empire .2 x.7 elliptical stylus on there now. Is that a good fit for this model TT?

Any of you have this model TT? What should I be using? Sorry if this is a vague question. I'm new to all this and I don't know a lot about how you choose the proper cart/stylus.

I don't have any experience with that cart but I really like my Denon DL-103 cart on mine.

That's a pretty nice direct drive turn table.

Don't know which version of the Empire 2000 you have, maybe it is the Empire 2000 E/III. :scratch2:

Originally the Pioneer PL-510 turn table came with a Pioneer PC-135 cartridge and a .5mil conical stylus.

Looks like some one had already upgraded the cartridge, enjoy! :music:

Already registered at vinyl engine a while back when I started looking for a TT...and I do have the manual for this model. That site is a great resource! Guess I'll have to start researching carts/styli there too! I just wasn't sure how you determine if a given cart is a good choice for your TT, other than the weight/balance issues related to the tonearm. I just don't have any understanding of all the technical aspects (tracking force, frequency, load impedance - all that type of stuff).

Not exactly sure about the specific model number of the Empire cart...I'll have to check it again up close to see.
 
I've got a PL-510A (not sure the difference between the 510 and the510A) I lucked up on a new old stock Stanton 600 EE on Ebay for cheap money and like it very much. I was using a Stanton 500 v3 and wasn't too fond of that one. I know this probably doesn't help since they don't make the 600 anymore but I've heard the 680 has taken its place. 680's come up on Ebay quite often.
