Pioneer PL-518 Feet

Does anyone know where I can obtain a set of feet for my Pioneer PL-518 Turntable. I just bought one at a thrift store for $10.00 and it is missing the feet, bushings and springs. Apparently the bushings rotted and the feet fell off at some point.

I think that is pretty common for that particular model. I have a set of Audio Technica adjustable feet for my Marantz 6300, but it's because one was missing. Try a search here, I think you'll turn up some ideas.
 
i bought a 518 that "was" in good shape till it was delivered. Fedex tossed it too and fro

anywya, it didn't have feet. i did find on the bay another broken 518x that i bought but it had feet!
 
I just purchased a 518 myself. I can't tell from the photos if the feet are missing or not. I didn't even think to ask before purchasing it. Duh!! I'll find out tomorrow when it arrives.

I've run into the same problem with garage sale amps and turntables. I just make new feet from chunks of wood or buy rubber furniture feet from the hardware store.
 
I had a PL-512 with perfect feet which I donated to a friend who turned it into a record cleaning machine (quite successfully, I might add). I didn't think to ask him to save the feet.

FWIW, since I happen to have 'em in cyberspace, here are a few photos of the 512 through 518 model line feet:

Superballs cut in half make great feet. You can usually find them at those $1 stores in the toy sections. I've also used hockey pucks--also a buck a piece.
 
Do an AK search for that TT and you should find a thread about homeade feet. Someone here recommended the rubber feet you put on chair legs. By using two sizes put inside of each other you can pretty much solve the problem. I've done it on my 518 and am very happy with the results.

I got them from the auction site last year. I think I paid about $30.00 for the set of 4. Model # is AT-605
Good luck with the 518, going to wrap it in walnut? :thmbsp:

all esle fails, keep an eye on ebay for a less than mint 518/16 in pretty bad shape that just happens to have feet.

might take a while but you could get lucky...thats how i got my feet
 
The 518 I purchased arrived yesterday. It is in pretty rough shape. Dust cover got cracked in shipping. Also the feet are missing. The aluminum parts are pitted and I tried to polish some of the silver but it is too far gone. Also had an odor like it had been stored in a musty basement for many years. I ended up making arrangements with the seller to return it.

I guess the timing just wasn't right. Probably best since Christmas is right around the corner.

I have a PL-518X in my second system. Would there be much difference between the 518 and the 518X? Anyway, just like most 518(X)´s, the feet rot away. I still had them, including the springs. I experimented with some things to replace the feet, including some feet I had leftover from a Thorens I modded. But I ended up putting the original feet including springs back under the Pioneer. I cleaned it, put a Goldring 1012GX in it and :guitar: rock ´n´roll, baby!
